Mr. Robert H. Brogden, Esq. is one of the most experienced, legally skilled, well rounded and highly accomplished criminal and civil litigators in South Alabama.  Robert, or “Bob”, earned the respect of the legal community many decades ago due to his honest, but relentless and aggressive representation of clients in all types of contested cases before juries and trial judges over the last 42 years in South Alabama.  Mr. Brogden has also been a municipal prosecutor and City Judge for the last four (4) decades throughout various municipalities in the Wiregrass.  He currently serves as the municipal Court Judge for the city of Ozark, Alabama.    

Robert H. Brogden was born and raised in Covington County, Alabama (Andalusia).  Robert graduated from high-school in Andalusia; and thereafter, he moved off to college where he earned his Bachelor’s degree from Auburn University.  Upon finishing college, Mr. Brogden voluntarily enlisted in the United States Military and was sent on orders to Vietnam where he served more than a year abroad for our Country. When Mr. Brogden returned from his tour of duty, he applied and was accepted to the Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama.  Robert graduated from Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law in 1972 and moved to Ozark, Alabama where he was initially a partner in the law firm of Brown & Brogden from 1972 until 1975.  Thereafter, in 1975 Robert established his own firm in Ozark.

Robert’s son, Jason R. Brogden, also attended and graduated from his alma mater, Cumberland, and passed the bar exam on his first sitting.   Subsequently, Robert partnered with Jason to form the Brogden Law Firm, LLC in Dale County, Alabama.   After many years of practicing law side by side, Robert and Jason have become extremely well known for representing clients in the “:tough cases”.  Specifically, the Brogdens are known for representing high profile clients and/or trying complex and hotly contested criminal jury trials throughout Dale and Geneva County as a father and son legal “defense team”.   In fact, the Brogdens have most recently recently four (4) “not guilty” verdicts out of their last five (5) criminal jury trials.

Robert is an extremely experienced trial attorney having tried a multitude of civil and criminal cases in both state and federal courts for more than forty (40) years of practice!  On the criminal side, Mr. Brogden has handled and tried before a jury almost every type of case; including but not limited to: captial murder trials, felony murder, manslaughter, robbery, theft, drug trafficking/manufacturing, DUI, as well as simple misdemeanor “assault 3rd” bench trials in District Courts throughout Alabama.  On the civil side, Robert has represented Plaintiffs and Defendants in essentially every type of cause of action provided for by the laws of Alabama; including, but not limited to: every level of divorce, wrongful death claims, fraud, evictions, will contests,  insurance claims, as well as simple and complex personal injury and automobile accident cases.  Mr. Brogden is also skilled in the art of Appellate drafting and has a successful history representing clients in thousands of Appeals to the Civil and Criminal Court of Appeals, as well as the Supreme Court of Alabama.
